For over 135 years the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway has served the valleys of Miterdale and Eskdale in West Cumbria. Following changes of gauge, major traffic and ownership the current Operating Company took over in 1961. This is the third of a series of Albums concentrating on aspects of this fascinating line. The Company Archives have provided glimpses back to the earliest days of operation and these are compared to their present day equivalent.

After fifty years of operation the management of the R&ER is proud to continue the traditions of this narrow gauge gem that has now become one of the Lake District's major tourist attractions.
