The tangled history of the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway spans 130 years and has involved changing from a minor ore carrying branch line into one of the leading tourist attractions in the Lake District. This is not a preserved railway as such, but a living railway that has survived through its ability to change whilst still maintaining its proud history. This is the second of a series of photographic albums concentrating on a particular source of photographs, in this case the late Douglas Ferreira, General Manager of the R&ER from 1960 until 1994. A period of great change and innovation.
